Practicing yoga since the year 2000, has continuously taught me to:
Take better care of my body and my mind. To breathe properly and regulate my nervous system. To slow down and be more present in every moment. To lean into discomfort and witness what I feel. To quietly surrender, grieve, rest when needed. To listen more consciously to myself and others. To have more courage, confidence and self love. To trust myself and the universe more. To be curious and not take everything so seriously. That actions speak louder then words. That I can achieve more then I think. To be ok with all my feelings & challenges in life and work through them. To have a lot more patience with myself and others. To stand up more for myself and others. To let go of people, habits and things that no longer serve me, grow me, support me.
Yoga over time has given me the tools to greater self awareness, flexibility, strength and balance in body, mind and life. It is my best friend when my anxiety disorder and PTSD are triggered and I need healing, comfort and support.
As The Bhagavad Gita says:
“Yoga is the Journey Of the Self, Through the Self, To the Self."
I acknowledge I am on the unceded territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and Sel̓íl̓witulh (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations. I thank them deeply for having cared for this beautiful land. Please take a conscious moment to do the same & reflect on this privilege. *Donate to the: Indian Residential School Survivors Society
